Week 23 – The Master Key Experience

As a follow-up to our webinar last week, I wanted to share with you a book that I highly recommend.  This book is titled, “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success,” by Deepak Chopra.  I read this book several years ago and I’m reading it again now.  The first law is the Law of Pure Potentiality.  The law states that if you want to make full use of the creativity which is inherent in pure consciousness, then you have to access it.

How do you access it?  Ge outside and enjoy nature.  This is one way to do it.  Spending time in nature will give you access to the qualities inherent in the field:  infinite creativity, freedom and bliss (as stated by Chopra).

Another way to access it is through the daily practice of silence, meditation and non-judgement, which we’ve talked about a lot in this course.

This first chapter in itself is a great chapter to read several times so that you can understand the importance of this law.  It is interesting how this course and the concepts of this book overlap in a number of ways.  As  I read this book a second time, it takes on a lot more meaning.

Something as simple as spending time in silence each day can make a tremendous difference in your life.  I have to admit I don’t do this every day, however, my promise to myself is to keep this book visible from now on so that I don’t forget!  Chopra actually recommends one hour per day.  Plan to maintain silence for at least 15 minutes per day (as recommended in the Master Key Course) and you will surely reap the benefits as Chopra describes.

Week 22 – The Master Key Experience

Today will be a short post on how you can increase your PRODUCTIVITY.  This is similar to the Franklin Covey model but adds a few things that I really like.  Let me know you thoughts …

Make sure to block out time for 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes at night.

The night before write down all your tasks for the next days.  Rank your 5 most important and determine how much time you will spend on each.

Schedule them in your day planner and start with the most important.

The next day make sure you do at least one thing to drive your business forward, no matter what.

Gratitude for each day is important so make sure when you wake up to write down at least 3 things you are grateful for today.

This is a simple routine that I plan on following myself.  I do something similar but I don’t always spend enough time the night before planning.  This is a system that if done consistently will allow you to get done in one day more than you ever have before!

Good luck … try it and I believe you may be surprised.

Week 21 – The Master Key Experience

Over the  last 21 weeks I’ve discussed a number of times the importance of  building a life that is based on what you want to do and not someone else wants.  I’m fortunate that I’m doing a lot of the things I want to be doing in life right now.  This is not to brag but I have it good in a lot of ways and I’m very grateful for what I have.  Gratitude is something that I practice daily and it always puts me in a better mood when I think of what I’m happy about in my life.  You get more of what you focus on, right?  Focus on  the good and I believe you will get more good and vice-versa.  In the last few posts I recommended a book for you to read and if anyone is interested in learning more about The Master Key Experience this takes the concepts discussed in the book to another level.

Do what works for you is what I suggest.  One of the other “best practices” I plan to add to my life this year is more exercise.  I generally run 3 or 4 times per week for about 30 minutes each time.  This year I want to get back into more competitive running.  I even plan to get more engaged in competitive group exercise.  Yesterday I did a workout locally with a group of 10 people or so.  You wear a heart rate monitor and you compete against yourself and others and the goal is to get your heart rate into an “uncomfortable zone” for at least 12 minutes.  I hit my zone for about 32 minutes and exercised a total of 60 minutes, quite a bit more than what I normally do.  If you can engage in any type of group exercise I highly recommend it.  You will be a lot more motivated to work out and you will push yourself quite a bit beyond what you normally do.  Also, it’s more fun in my opinion.  This is a new activity a plan to add 3 or 4 times a week to my normal running routine.  I will be running competitive 5K races again in no time with this group exercise component.  It combines running on the treadmill as well.  My heart rate hit 100% of max toward the end of the workout at the 1 hour mark and I burned a total of 900 calories!

It will be exciting to drop about 10 pounds over the next couple of months and enter a 5K race this summer.  I expect to get in the best shape of my life this summer and also get back into competition which I love.  I mentioned in another post my running background so it will be exciting again to see what I can do once I set my mind to an athletic goal.  Personally, I know if I do this it will have a major positive impact on all areas of my life.  Once you get in very competitive physical shape it has a major positive impact on all areas of your life.  This has been my experience in the past …  I look forward to providing you a few updates on my progress here.  If you are not in group exercise, do it!  I promise it can change your life and it will make it much easier for you to stay in an exercise routine.  Would love to hear your thoughts on  this and any experiences …

Week 20 – The Master Key Experience

Wow!  It’s been a super busy start to 2016.  I’m ready for a vacation … lol.  Seriously, I think I’m in need of one very soon.

I’ve traveled two out of the last 3 weeks.  I returned early this week from travel and I’m ready to stay in TN for a while.  I hope everyone enjoyed my book recommendation last week.  I started reading this book, “The Happiness Advantage,” by Shawn Anchor again during my travels, however, I still need to finish.  It has such worthwhile exercises that can be implemented on a daily basis.

I find I must do this on a daily basis or it’s very easy for me to slip into a negative mindset.  I’m a very positive person overall but I find when I’m very busy and my life is non-stop with work and family responsibilities and I don’t have enough fun  I can get moody.  My wife tells me this anyways.  Who doesn’t feel like this at times as life can get very busy and it’s never good when you don’t leave yourself enough time for fun.

I’m guilty of being a workaholic so I’m doing my best to only focus on the most important things and let go of the rest.  I’m going back to reading the book this weekend and we pass along any tips I’ve learned in my next post.

Week 19 – The Master Key Experience

If you’ve not read the book, “The Happiness Advantage,” by Shawn Anchor then I highly recommend it.  I just pulled it from my book shelf today and will plan to read it again next week when traveling.

Many of the exercises that are part of the Master Key Experience have actually been proven to fuel success as outlined in Anchor’s book.  It was helpful to connect the dots with this recently.  My plan is to go back to this book and make absolutely certain I am doing everything suggested here.  The techniques in the book have been scientifically proven to fuel success and performance at work.  Most people will just read the book and not take any action, however, once you really start to understand all of the principles of success you will want to implement everything he discusses in the book daily.  Prior to this course would I have gone back to re-read this book? … probably not.  Now I can’t wait to tear open the pages again and go much deeper into these principles.  It’s now a life long habit … ready and study a little it each day and strive to be better.  The payoff will be huge.

I will be back here again next Friday after returning from my trip!

Week 18 – The Master Key Experience

Today will be a short post as I’ve been traveling all week ….

In the last post I talked about the importance of setting a goal to become a Champion.  Most of us have regular incomes but also are interested in multiple streams of income.  I have something now that I believe will produce approximately $30K -$40K on near auto-pilot between Feb. 1 and July 31st.  I believe this is a conservative estimation.  If you are looking for a way to generate income outside of a job then this is perfect.  It does not require you to take on a second job as most “opportunities” out there do.  I’m starting to now figure out things that have taken me a long time to figure out!  The costs involved to figure these things out have been staggering as well.  I’m on a mission to help others out there so that do not have to go through the same learning curve.

This is something that I truly believe could also produce well over $100K as well sometime in August.  The truth is I believe it will produce far more than this but I prefer to be conservative.  The mentors I’m working with have produced tens of millions of dollars in internet marketing and the best part of the system is that it literally only takes a few hours per week of time.  This is really the only type of system that works if you have a job.  In fact, most people who try to make it in a business whether it be a home based business or an actually small business end up failing the first 5 years.  I believe that approx. 95% of all businesses fail within the first 5 years … dismal statistics when you think about it.  Why would anyone quit a job unless that had something already producing for them?  It would not make sense for anyone to be this foolish.

Just add something to your already stable income.  Add something that pays you upfront.  What about something that actually pays you $1.50 for every single email?  Once a person opts-in to this free system they are then entered into a sales funnel with 27 different income streams.  In fact, my income projections for just 1000 visitors to my sales page is a 20% opt-in rate or $300.  This is the first of the 27 income streams.  I start this project on Monday so I will update on these pages as to my progress.  It will be interesting to say the least!  The income projections for the first couple of months are a minimum of $10K per month.  You will know first-hand how well this project is going for me.  The best part is I have very little outgoing expenses and it will take me only a few hours per week to implement!!!  Perfect for someone like myself who has a very busy professional sales career and a busy family life.  Technology is really changing things for the better … AUTOMATION is where you want to be with any business.

Week 17 – The Master Key Experience

Are you focused?  We’ve been talking about this quite a lot over the past 17 weeks in these blog posts.  Do you really know what you want?  I wanted to share something with you that may help make your 2016 amazing.  It was shared with me yesterday by a top real estate investor and can be applied to anything that you are doing.  The exercise is to focus on your top 3 banner goals for the year, then break this down into top 3 monthly goals for each month.  You then have 36 items throughout the year you are focused on.  You write out your banner goals every single day.  The exercise goes into much more depth that this but you get the idea.  It’s important that you are doing something similar on a daily basis to reach whatever goals you have this year.  If you would like more information on this method, you can find this resource on Amazon.  It’s by Darren Hardy and called, “Living Your Best Year Ever.”

Whatever system you follow, just make sure you stick to it.  Keep focused on “the main thing” and it will come to fruition.

I’ve created a number of “Banner Goals” for myself in 2016.  I’m very clear on what I want.  I remind myself each day how clear I am on my goals by reading the following every day with enthusiasm …

  • “I am focused  … “
  • ” I know exactly what to do ..”

Get yourself in a routine and create a new habit and the benefits will be immense!  Just do it!  As Feb. 1 is getting closer I have begun to get even more focused on what I really want in the next 6 months.  I have a number of goals I want to achieve before my Birthday this year on Aug. 4th.  This means I have 6 months to do it.  Whatever your focus DECIDE that you will be in the top half of 1%.  DECIDE that you will be a CHAMPION.  Who are you?  You are a Champion.  Believe it …

Actually, I’m planning to add it to my list from above …

  • “I am a Champion …”

Say it and believe it.  Look yourself in the mirror when you say it and believe it.  Every single person reading this is a champion.  Go make it happen.

Week 16 – The Master Key Experience

I’ve never really “blogged” before so this is a new experience for me.  Several people have told me that they have enjoyed my posts.  Thank you!  I have been in the medical/biotech field now for 18 years selling life saving drugs.  Every day I know I make a difference when I go out and talk to customers.  It’s a great feeling.  I’m also very entrepreneurial which is one of the reasons I’m participating in this course.  I’ve been successful with making money from home in various home based businesses and also in creative real estate.  I love  the real estate, however, I’ve noticed that different things like this can actually become a second job which I’m trying to avoid.  As a husband and a father of two daughters, 6 and 8, and the breadwinner for the family my main focus is on my career.  That is a “no-brainer.”  What I really struggle with is finding that “one thing” outside of my career that can set me free financially.  My wife has a background as a kindergarten teacher and for the last 8 years she has been a stay at home Mom.  It’s literally like a full-time job as many of you out there know.  She has been making money with Amazon recently.  I’m very, very proud of her.  We have decided to take this to another level in 2016.

I thought it would be helpful to share more information about myself and some of my own “challenges” in this post.  My DMP (Definite Major Purpose) has actually been a challenge because I have wanted to develop this for something outside of my career.  The career will only get better for me as I spend a lot of time here and do extremely well in sales.  I’m fortunate to work for such a great company as well.  I’m one of the few people that actually enjoys their work.  It’s really not like work as most of my customers are now like my friends and the same goes for my colleagues.

So, how do I “balance” all of these priorities.  My solution this year is to get more focused on that “one thing” that can help my family financially.  Outside of my normal work hours during the day, this focus will be Amazon.  I’m fortunate that I have a wife that has decided to become an “entrepreneur.”  My day to day is very similar to an entrepreneur as I set my own schedule and decide how I want to conduct my business.  Not everyone has the discipline to do this but I’ve done it very well now for 18 years.  I really want to leave a “legacy” for my daughters and teach them how to become fully self-sufficient so they never have to depend on anyone for income.

It wold be wonderful to see my wife continue her success with Amazon and equal the income with my job.  This is our goal.  I will help her with this as my time allows.  This is going to be the focus of my DMP in 2016.  My mentor suggested to me to say the following every day three times with enthusiasm:  “I am focused … I know exactly what to do.”  I’ve noticed as I do this the stress tends to dissipate.  My advice to everyone in 2016 is to STOP trying to do everything and just focus on that “one thing” that will help set you free.  For us, Amazon makes the most sense out of everything.  For you this may be totally different depending on your interests and their are a ton of ways to make money.  Just FOCUS and it will happen.  Focus is the most difficult thing for most people and as I’ve stressed in previous posts … multi-tasking will be a detriment to your success.  Stay focused on the “one thing.”

Week 15 – The Master Key Experience

We are jumping from Week 13 to Week 15 due to the Holiday break.  In the last post before the end of the year, I talked about the importance of FOCUS.  Since we are now at the start of a new year, this is the perfect topic.  Most people set a New Year’s Resolution but very few can actually make it stick.  What is the solution to make that New Year’s Resolution stick?  Below I talk about what I believe to be one of the fastest ways to get you on track at the start of the year.  For the next 10 posts I plan to go into more detail on this since most of us have big goals to achieve in 2016!

Don’t get too defensive when I say this but the truth is we are all lazy.  Yes, I said it.  You are LAZY!  Does that stir up a little emotion?  I hope it does since that is my intent.  Do you know the best way to make sure you achieve your goals this year?  The answer is to recognize the areas where you may be emotionally weak and get angry about it.  Get Pissed!  Feel the anger about being fat, being broke or mediocre, etc.  We talked about this recently in one of our mastermind sessions and the more I thought about it I realized this is the missing ingredient for most people.  You need to stir up your emotions and leverage them to your advantage.

You may find this funny but this strategy has helped me stay in shape and lean my entire life.  If I’m not in great shape I will look myself in the mirror and actually get disgusted and say, “you’re fat, do something about it!”  Now am I actually fat?  No, I’m not but it gets my butt in gear.  This mind game gets me motivated!  Do whatever it takes!!!

Currently I’m running about 4 miles every other day, however, this year I do want to get back into competitive running.  I was a 3 time State Champion in Cross Country and Track in H.S. (4:20 for the Mile and 9:28 for the 2 mile at the State Meet) and went to Virginia Tech on a scholarship so I understand discipline.  Talk about FOCUS.  There is no way I could have done these things without incredible focus.

I understand how to leverage emotion and achieve crazy focus on a goal and I believe I’ve done it unconsciously most of my life.  This is what you want to do to achieve any goal that you have for yourself in 2016.  I hope this helps … I love this strategy for achieving goals!  I will continue to talk about this in the next post.  One of my goals this year will be to get more of this focus back in a world that is all about multi-tasking and doing everything.  It’s impossible to be good at everything and as I mentioned in my last post multi-tasking will be the detriment to your success.
